Responsibility: Engineering is a public service! Intact infrastructures form the basis of our social coexistence. Ohlsen engineer’s mission is not only to plan these structures in line with requirements, but also to think at least one step ahead towards tomorrow:

No life without water. Although over 70 %t of our blue planet is covered by water, only 0.3 per cent of the world’s fresh water is available to us. Preserving and protecting this elixir of life requires far-reaching planning solutions due to climate change – water not only means life, but also a potential force of nature that we must be able to factor into the equation. Water supply, water treatment and infrastructure: as experts in all relevant areas, we are completely in our element.

Planet Earth as a resource. About a quarter of the Earth’s surface can be used productively by humans. An understanding of natural geography, political, economic and social conditions is a basic prerequisite for us engineers; urban planning and architectural requirements are in a permanent state of development. We value our planet’s resources – and are paving the way for a future that protects the environment and the climate with thought-out management.

Digitalisation. The spread of digital media and technologies marks a new era in human history. We are embracing the change and supporting the expansion of the digital infrastructure at the hotspots in the Rhine-Main region in co-operation with international consortia. We are adapting our planning processes to remain globally competitive: BIG data and the BIM method support us in continuously updating and expanding innovative communication channels – for an even more efficient, collaborative working culture and maximum planning reliability.

Mobility. We design roads for all modes of transport and all types of use: for recreational areas and heavy-duty roads, in the city and in the countryside, for local authorities and road construction authorities, for private households and commercial customers. Because climate change and the scarcity of resources are forcing us to rethink mobility, we are breaking new ground: tomorrow’s means of transport and networks will be ecological and efficient, fair, inviting and flexible. We get involved with clever planning – and get projects of any size moving.
