We planned the accompanying measures as part of the renewal of the Sondern viaduct and developed a solution for a roundabout in a particularly confined space between the bank and the slope.

We planned a complete new cycle path parallel to the busy main road on the motorway as a link from the service area to the city centre. A roundabout for cyclists and pedestrians was also integrated into the planning. Another element was the design of an insurance system to drain the surface water along the cycle path.

The safety of pedestrians has been significantly improved by a levelled road extension. In addition, newly laid paved footpaths provide a clear demarcation between the carriageway and the pedestrian area, optimising orientation and safety for all road users.
